OSWEGO, NY – Summer is right around the corner and with summer fun comes the increased risk of accidents.

The American Red Cross is offering a First Aid class on June 19 from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m.

This three-hour course provides participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to give care in an emergency, help sustain life and minimize the consequences of injury or sudden illness until medical help arrives.

Participants who successfully complete the course will be given certification that will be active for a three-year period.

Learning to deal with emergency situations both life threatening and non-life threatening, learning how to control bleeding, identify signs and symptoms of stroke, diabetic emergencies, poisoning and allergic reactions as well as identifying and caring for heat related emergencies are all skills that will help each of us in our daily lives.
