Good music, great food, perfect weather.  Those three things meant that the annual “Rock The Block” event at Fulton’s Canal Landing gazebo enjoyed its largest crowd ever.

A constant stream of people enjoyed snack-sized portions of food from Blue Moon Grill, Tavern on the Grill, Mama Gina’s. Red Baron Pizza and Schremp Dogs.  They bought T-shirts with the event’s logo on them, donated by Fulton Screen Printing.  They mingled with friends and enjoyed the music of the Cortini Brothers & Friends.

Jennifer Hill, executive director of the Greater Oswego-Fulton Chamber of Commerce, the event’s organizer, said she was thrilled that threatening weather blew out of town in time for the party. “You know the weather has been so iffy the last several days.”

She said “Rock The Block”, farmer’s markets in Fulton and Oswego, and other events are aimed at tying people to their downtowns. “We are trying to make people realize how beautiful these areas are, how vital downtowns are to the vitality of a community. Events like this bring people downtown and let them experience that.”

Sponsors for “Rock the Block” were Canalview Travel, Fulton Savings Bank, Pathfinder Bank, Pinnacle Dental Group, and Windstream.
