Blackstone Group will close the Rochester headquarters of Birds Eye Foods, the company it acquired, according to a job-loss notice the company filed with the state Labor Department.

The notice did not mention Birds Eye’s only other facility in New York State, its plant in Fulton.

The Rochester headquarters will be folded into another headquarters facility in New Jersey during the year.  When the change is complete, 205 people at the office in the Rochester suburb of Brighton will lose their jobs.

Blackstone, one of the world’s largest investment companies, bought Birds Eye last year and said it would decide early in 2010 which Birds Eye facilities would stay open and which would close.
