Candlelight Walk Nov. 14 In Celebration Of National Adoption Month

Submitted Article

MEXICO, NY – The staff of the Oswego County Department of Social Services is observing National Adoption Month with a candlelight walk at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 14.

The walk will begin at the DSS Building on Spring Street and continue to Church Street, Route 104, and back to Spring Street.

Refreshments will be served after the walk and information on children waiting for their ‘forever family’ will be available.

Liberty Resources, Inc. is working with DSS to organize the event.

If there is inclement weather, there will be a candlelight service at the DSS building.

Currently there are nearly 4,000 children in NY State available for adoption, including 120 children in Central New York who are growing up without a family of their own.

For more information about the candlelight walk, or for information about adoption or foster parenting, call Nancy Clark at 598-4642, ext. 46 or [email protected] or Carol Vincent, phone 963-5534 or e-mail [email protected]
