Children’s Theater To Offer Theater Makeup Classes

OSWEGO, NY – Have you ever wondered what you might look like when you grow older or as your favorite animal?

There is an exciting way to find out.

The magic of theatrical make-up.

The Oswego Children’s Theater will offer to the general public ages 13 and above a series of theater makeup classes.

The first set of classes will cover basic stage make-up and aging techniques.

In this class you will become familiar with basic traditional make-up techniques and designs and the aging process through make-up.

From there each class will progress featuring clown and fantasy character make-up, followed with animal make-up, and the last in the series will teach techniques for creating special effects such as scars, bruises and gore.

Amanda Mosher will teach all of the classes.

Amanda is a licensed cosmetologist and certified make-up artist.

She received her make-up training in New York City at the LIBS Empire Beauty School for Make-up Artistry.

She is certified in fashion and glamour, basic character, monsters and clowns, and prosthetics.

Amanda has done make-up professionally for theater, film, and print.

The theater will begin with two sessions of the basic stage and aging make-up class.

Dates for those classes are May 27 through 30 and June 2 through 5.

Each set of classes will consist of four sessions from 6 until 9 p.m. for a total of 12 hours class time per course.

Cost of the classes will be $60 plus a $15 material fee for each session.
