FULTON – Chief Michael Curtis, in coordination with the City of Fulton Fire & Police Commission, is proud to announce several key promotions within the Fulton Police Department that reflect the dedication, leadership, and professionalism of the department’s members.
Effective September 1, 2025:
- Deputy Chief Christian Dempsey will be promoted to Chief of Police.
Chief Dempsey has served with distinction and has been a vital member of the department’s command staff. His steadfast leadership, professionalism, and commitment to community-focused policing have made a lasting impact. He will continue to guide the department into the future with vision and integrity.

- Lieutenant Brandon Lanning will be promoted to Deputy Chief of Police.
Lt. Lanning has proven himself to be a dedicated and capable leader throughout his tenure. His operational knowledge and dedication to the mission of the department will be instrumental in his new role as Deputy Chief.
Effective July 14, 2025:
- Officer Edward Hogan has been promoted to the rank of Sergeant.
Officer Hogan has demonstrated strong leadership, work ethic, and dedication to public service. He will continue to mentor and guide patrol officers in his new supervisory role.

- Officer Tracie Niver has been promoted to the position of Investigator.
Officer Niver has shown outstanding initiative and investigative skill. Her promotion reflects her continued commitment to solving cases and serving victims with compassion and diligence.
