FULTON – The City of Fulton Police Department is proud to announce the swearing-in of four new recruits who will begin their journey in law enforcement. The official ceremony, held on April 1, 2025, marks the start of an intensive training process that will prepare them to serve and protect the Fulton community.
Chief Michael Curtis and Deputy Chief Christian Dempsey welcomed the new recruits and their families, emphasizing the department’s long-standing tradition of integrity, professionalism, and commitment to public safety. The new officers will soon begin their training at the Oswego County Regional Police Academy under the guise of training staff from the Oswego County Sheriff’s Department, City of Fulton Police Department and Oswego City Police Department. The academy is located at Cayuga Community College’s Fulton Campus and this marks the first academy class to be held at this new location, a milestone for the City of Fulton and Oswego County law enforcement training programs.
Meet the New Recruits The City of Fulton Police Department is honored to introduce the following recruits:
- Kamilyn K. Shaw
- Nicholas J. Burrescia
- Collin M. Cianfarano
- Joseph M. Rowback
These individuals will complete approximately nine months of comprehensive law enforcement instruction. Their training will cover essential areas such as criminal law, emergency response, community policing, and crisis management, ensuring they are well-prepared to serve the residents of Fulton.

As these recruits embark on their law enforcement careers, the City of Fulton Police Department extends its gratitude to their families and the community for their support.
