FULTON – The City of Fulton recently received a $2 million ‘Restore NY’ Grant to assist with Oswego Health’s (OH) – the expansion project being located in the city’s Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) district; the announcement made by Fulton Mayor Deana Michaels.

“This grant supports Oswego Health’s Fulton Campus vision and brings dollars to this DRI district project to support the demolition of the ‘green monster’ warehouse on S. Second St., adjacent to OH’s Urgent Care, and will build infrastructure, parking and other amenities,” Michaels said.

“Thanks to the efforts of Nate Emmons, Executive Director of our Community Development Agency—who filed the application and pursued it with due diligence—this is a huge win for Fulton and a testament to the importance of healthcare in our community.”

According to the NYS Restore New York Communities Initiative, the “Fulton Medical Center Parking and Community Space project will consist of the acquisition and demolition of an 18,860 square-foot warehouse and removal of the existing streetscape on Park Street that currently bisects the center of the property, resulting in 68,000 square feet of new, unified space. Additionally, redevelopment will include safe and accessible parking, attractive community green-space, and prepare the site for a new 17,000 square-foot building,” Emmons said.

Emmons added that the city also received a $750,000 Restore NY Grant for NET & Die, which is seeking to build a new manufacturing facility. “That’s nearly a $3 million investment in our city that we’ve added this year,” Emmons said. “Once rezoning for the entire DRI corridor is approved, we can move forward with the OH and other projects.”
