City Police Remind Motorists To Buckle Up

Provided by Oswego Police

OSWEGO, NY – Throughout this week and next, the Oswego Police Department will be participating in the state-wide campaign to aggressively enforce the seatbelt laws in an effort to gain compliance.

The effort, which will run until June 1, will be particularly focused locally around and throughout the upcoming Memorial Day weekend.

The Oswego Police Department will be using grant money obtained through the Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee program “Buckle Up New York” to detail officers to specifically enforce the New York State Safety Belt Laws.

Increasing seat belt and child safety seat use is the most effective way to reduce crash-related injuries and fatalities.

Buckle Up New York, Click It… Or Ticket, is a statewide, zero tolerance enforcement effort coordinated by the State Police and the Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee to increase safety restraint use in New York State.

We wish to remind everyone to buckle up, drive carefully and to have a safe and happy holiday. missing or outdated ad config
