Companies Lend Support To The United Way Annual Golf Classic

FULTON, NY – Excitement continues to build for the United Way of Greater Oswego County’s 13th Annual Golf Classic.

Constellation Energy Group, Entergy Nuclear, National Grid, Novelis Corporation, and the Oswego County Federal Credit Union have all signed on as major sponsors for this year’s event.

Constellation, Entergy Nuclear, National Grid, Novelis, and the Oswego County Federal Credit Union, have offered their support to the United Way as major sponsors for the 2008 Golf Classic. Recognized as leaders in business these companies are pleased to be helping the United Way of Greater Oswego County.

“Entergy is a proud to once again partner with the United Way and be a part of the 2008 Golf Classic,” said Mike Rose of Entergy.  “It is an honor for Entergy to have a role in raising funds for the United Way by supporting such a fun event as their annual Golf Classic.  It’s rewarding to know that the contributions to the United Way’s Annual Golf Classic will be used to support the many local human services programs that make our community a better place to live.”

Maria Hudson, communications consultant, Constellation Energy’s Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station said that Constellation Energy is also happy to be involved with the event.

“Constellation Energy is proud to be a major sponsor of United Way of Greater Oswego County’s Annual Golf Classic,” she said.  “Constellation Energy fully supports the United Way’s efforts to create meaningful changes in people’s lives and to build stronger communities.”

Bill Carhart, CEO of the Oswego County Federal Credit Union, also cited the efforts of the United Way as the reason for lending support to the agency’s Annual Golf Classic.

“The Credit Union recognizes the vital work and contributions that the United Way makes in Oswego County,” he said. “We felt compelled to support their goals and efforts by supporting their Annual Golf Classic.”

Scheduled for July 11 at the Greenview Country Club in West Monroe, The United Way Golf Classic is one of the largest golf tournaments in Oswego County and provides businesses and individuals with the opportunity to enjoy a fun day of golf and while helping to support their United Way.

“We are very grateful that Constellation Energy Group, Entergy Nuclear, National Grid, Novelis Corporation and the Oswego County Federal Credit Union have decided to take such an active role in this year’s Golf Classic. Their continued support of the United Way demonstrates their care and concern for their community and for the many people who depend on the programs that the United Way supports,” said Trexler.

Registration fee the United Way’s Golf Classic is only $100 per person and includes all green fees, golf cart, a United Way golf shirt, continental breakfast, lunch, beverages on the course, and a steak dinner following the tournament.

Thanks to strong community support more than 25 teams have already registered for the tournament and spots are filling fast.
