OSWEGO – March 5, 2024, Compass Federal Credit Union’s longstanding Bank at School Program has now made its way to Fulton.  Beginning in January of this year, Fairgrieve Elementary School became the first school in the Fulton City School District to participate in the program.

For more than ten years, Compass Federal Credit Union has facilitated the Bank at School program within the Oswego City School District, helping to provide real-world, hands-on banking experiences for students at any grade level.  Now, the foundation has been set to help introduce the same needs in the city of Fulton.

“Financial education is crucial for everyone, especially our youth,” said Compass Federal Credit Union CEO, Jennifer Rupert.  “The Bank at School program has provided Compass an opportunity to help educate students for over a decade on the importance and benefits of saving money.  Students that started with us as eager elementary students are now graduating high school armed with their Compass accounts and a better grasp of financial management.  Now, we are set to begin this journey with our community members in Fulton thanks to the support of the Fulton City School District and Fairgrieve Elementary School.”

Running from October through May each school year, the Compass FCU Bank at School program offers students an opportunity to deposit money into their own account at school.  As part of the program, Compass opens a free account for those who participate.  Students who deposit money into their savings account on each bank day are able to choose a free prize from the credit union and are then entered into a chance for a variety of year-end prizes including gift cards, local coupons and to go inside of the Compass Cash Vault for an opportunity to win up to $200.

Compass Federal Credit Union, established in 1966, services more than 7,800 members in the Oswego County community.  Compass takes great pride in serving its members with responsive and exceptional personal service, security of member’s funds, competitive rates and programs and continued growth.
