Oswego County Head Start Pre-K continues to accept applications for Fall 2008. Head Start is a quality Pre-K program that enrolls 3- and 4-year-old children at no cost to families. The program’s primary goal is promoting school readiness by enhancing the social and cognitive development of children. Classes are led by teachers with degrees in Early Childhood Education. In addition, all classrooms have teaching assistants and classroom aides. Head Start Pre-K recognizes that children learn best through hands-on experiences. Classrooms are well-equipped with a variety of materials and resources that encourage students to explore, create, play, and learn.
Oswego County Head Start Pre-K also includes nutritious meals and snacks, family support services, and nurses are available. There are limited transportation services available.
To provide the best possible program, Head Start Pre-K only has a limited number of slots. A few openings are still available and waiting lists are maintained for all classes throughout the school year. Families are encouraged to apply soon.
