Arrest Former Fulton Junior High Teaching Assistant Charged with Endangering Welfare of Children

FULTON – On April 27, 2026, a student at Fulton Junior High School reported to school staff that a teaching assistant had engaged in inappropriate conduct during school hours. The matter was reported to law enforcement and an investigation was initiated.

During the investigation, it was alleged that the teaching assistant displayed a sexually explicit and inappropriate text message on her cellular phone to three students, who viewed the message. Investigators conducted numerous interviews with students, several of whom were identified as witnesses to the incident.

As a result of the investigation, the teaching assistant was taken into custody. The suspect has been identified as: Katelynn Hanson, 38, of Fulton, New York

Charges:

*Three (3) counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child

Hanson is a former employee that no longer works for Fulton City School District. She is scheduled to appear in Fulton City Court on June 18, 2026, to answer to the above charges.
