Forum To Focus On Youth Programs

OSWEGO, NY – Those interested in learning more about the many youth programs that are available, are invited to attend a special event that will focus on the youth of Oswego County.

Free and open to the public, the first Oswego County Youth Program Forum will be held Nov. 7 from 8:30 a.m. to noon, at the Elks Lodge.

Forum To Focus On Youth ProgramsThe Oswego County, the Youth Program Forum will provide those in attendance with the opportunity to hear first-hand about the services available to youth in Oswego County as representatives from Oswego County’s human services agencies present information about the wide array of youth oriented programs that exist in Oswego County and how to properly access them as well.

The forum will also provide an opportunity to ask questions, gather information and establish contacts with youth service providers.

Each agency will also display and distribute information about their youth programs.

Director of the Oswego City-County Youth Bureau, Kathy Fenlon, a member of the event’s planning committee, is excited about the Youth Program Forum and encourages the community to attend this informative event and discover the vast array of programs that area human service agencies offer the youth of Oswego County.

“It is important to be aware of the many services provided for youth in Oswego County,” said Fenlon. “The forum gives local agencies and schools an opportunity to learn up-to-date information, and to meet the providers of these services.”

Fenlon added that those in attendance will have the opportunity to listen to and speak with representatives from organizations offering youth services such as:

Jobs/Training, Mentoring Services, Recreation Programs/Services, Runaway/Shelter/Homeless Services, Family Focused Programming, Cultural Services, Juvenile Justice Services, Youth Development Services, Conflict Resolution Services, Health/Mental Health Services.
