SYRACUSE, NY – A Phoenix man was sentenced to the maximum for killing his sister-in-law.
Based on his admission to second-degree murder, Larry Frank was sentenced today (April 26) to the maximum – 25 years to life behind bars.
“Your conduct on that evening can only be described as brutal, callous, and inhumane,” Judge Anthony Aloi told him in court today.
On November 19, 2012, the body of Patricia Gryczka was found in a ravine off of Webb Road in LaFayette around 4 a.m.
Later that day, her brother-in-law, Frank, 50, of 6 Pine St., Lot A, Phoenix, was taken into custody in Pennsylvania when he used Gryczka’s credit card at Wal-Mart.
According to court documents, Frank was taken into custody by Officer Michael Morris and admitted to Morris that he killed his sister-in-law by placing a plastic bag over her head while she sat at a table in her town of Geddes home.
An Onondaga County grand jury indicted Frank on two counts of first-degree murder and second-degree murder, along with one count of first-degree robbery.
He pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in exchange for a promised sentence of 25 years to life in prison.
