Submitted by State Street United Methodist Church

FULTON, NY – There is room at the table for 300 people to eat and celebrate at the Community Thanksgiving Dinner, organizers announced.

Meals will be served on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 22, from noon until 3 p.m. at State Street United Methodist Church at 357 State Street in Fulton. A number of community organizations and churches are working together to provide the free meal.

No reservations or tickets are needed for the dinner. It is open to the public, committee member Carol Dexter explained.

“Anyone who would like to come to the dinner is welcome,” she said. “We will have the traditional thanksgiving dinner and a nice warm atmosphere to enjoy it in.”

This is the second year the community has offered the free meal. Last year, approximately 100 people attended the dinner.

A number of residents, community organizations and businesses have donated food and money to make the event possible, Dexter said.

“This community has been so generous,” she said. “We appreciate all the support we have received.”

The turkeys have been donated by Plainville Turkey Farm, and the vegetables are donated by Birds Eye in Fulton. Sysco, Mimi’s, Strupplers, and other local businesses have also made food donations to the event making it possible to provide free meals for 300 people.

Anyone interested in volunteering at the event should call Muriel Allerton at 592-5900. missing or outdated ad config
