FULTON – The 2023 and 2024 Fulton Living History Tours proved to be more than an entertaining look back at Fulton’s past. It was also a catalyst that has inspired the City of Fulton to create a more complete and inclusive celebration of its notable history. Lori Blackburn served as the Director for these tours which included 38 actors depicting scenes at former industries, churches, and cultural events that shaped Fulton’s uniqueness.
Lori did an amazing job both years but sadly has decided to step back from this role moving forward. The Fulton Living History Tour Committee thanks Lori for all her work. “Lori’s energy and creativity made the tours better and better with each year. We will miss her greatly,” said Shannon Sawyer, LHT Committee member.
After Lori’s announcement, the LHT Committee began a search for a new producers. “We are happy to announce that Nicholas Gentile and Sarah Gavin have been selected as the writers and producers for the 2026 Tours,” continued Sawyer.
Nicholas and Sarah come to us with a great deal of experience in local theatrical productions based on historical events. The 1812 Underture, an operetta they co-wrote with Kathryn Donovan, was produced within the walls of Fort Ontario in 2023. Last summer’s production of Gentile’s original play Space Race at the CNY Arts Center transported audiences to the year 1969 and was bestowed the inaugural Neil R. Jones Astronaut Award by Mayor Jim Rice.
“As tour guides,” says Gentile, “our aim is to usher you safely through the perils of time travel and enhance your stay in the past. We’ll sightsee popular historic destinations, explore distant moments in our city’s lore, and even rub elbows with famous Fultonians of yesteryear. You can’t afford to miss this daring expedition.”
Tina Eusepi, Fulton Block Builder Administrative Director which sponsors the Fulton Living History Tours said, “We are sorry to skip the Tours in 2025 but there is a lot of reorganizing and recruitment of volunteers that must take place before the next tours, thus our committee has decided to cancel 2025. We are actively seeking new volunteers. Please contact me at: 315-532-2799.
