Fulton Board of Ed Names Leaders, Handles Annual Duties

Fulton’s Board of Education picked its leaders for a new year and plunged into the routine work that faces a school board at its first meeting of the new work year.

Board President Robert Ireland remained in the post.  Former leader Robbin Griffin was selected Vice President.  Brian Hotaling was named the board’s Clerk.

Board members welcomed Rosemary Occhino to her first meeting as a member.  She won the election in November to replace Matt Geitner, who stepped down, citing work commitments.

After that, the board pushed through 30 more resolutions, to make annual appointments and reaffirm certain policies.  At that point, the board adjourned and immediately began its regular meeting.

All of the votes on the resolutions in the document below were unanimous, except for resolution 3, which appointed some district officers.  There, board member Robert Somers voted no without explanation.  The measure passed, 6-1.
