Fulton Common Council Approves Tentative Agreement With Local Union

FULTON – This past Tuesday, the Fulton Common Council Meeting started with the Pledge of Allegiance, led by Councilor Patrick’s younger daughter, Lily Patrick.

The Council’s agenda included three public hearings on the West Broadway Parking Improvement District, Canalview Off Street Parking Improvement District, and collection fees for disposing of prohibited waste materials. Chris Catt of Siemans presented the council on the bond for Energy Performance Improvements and Street Lighting Systems in Fulton.

The tentative agreement with the CSEA, Local 1000 AFSCME, AFL_CIO, City of Fulton Unit #8000-00 passed last night with cheers and congratulations. Before the vote, the Union director, Tom Schimpff, spoke to the Council; below is the video of his comments.

 

All Resolutions passed:

4. Resolve to approve the minutes from the May 21, 2024 Council Meeting.
5. Notation to appoint Matthew Smith to the Electrical Board and the Plumbing/HVAC Board.
6. Resolve to appoint Matthew Smith to the ORI Advisory Committee.
7. Resolve to approve the sale of the property located at 609 Ontario Street.
8. Resolve to approve the sale of the property located at 516 Buffalo Street.
9. Resolve to authorize the City Clerk/Chamberlain to advertise for a public hearing on June 11, 2024, relative to the ORI Rezone.
10. Resolve to authorize the City Clerk/Chamberlain to advertise for a public hearing on June 18, 2024, relative to adding a Chapter to the City of Fulton Code entitled “Solar Collectors and Installations.”
11. Resolve to authorize the Mayor to sign a contract with C&S Companies for additional services for the DRI Rezone.
12. Resolve to authorize the issuance of a bond for Energy Performance Improvements and Street Lighting System.
13. Resolve to authorize the Mayor to sign a tentative agreement with the CSEA, Local 1000 AFSCME, AFL-CIO, City of Fulton Unit #8001-00.
14. Resolve to authorize the City Clerk/Chamberlain to advertise for a public hearing on June 18, 2024, relative to amending Chapter 449 Article I entitled “Playground and Recreation Areas”.
