Fulton Council Meeting Highlights: Budget and Service Updates

FULTON –  The Fulton Common Council met Tuesday night for its regular session, focusing largely on routine business City leaders also provided general updates on operations across departments, touching on staffing, project progress, and service delivery. No major new initiatives were introduced during the meeting, but discussions reinforced a continued focus on maintaining core services efficiently.
Resolutions
  • Public Hearing relative to Proposed Budget Legislation.
    • Public hearing closed with a tie breaker vote from the Mayor.
  • Public Hearing relative to the amendment of 608-58, schedule XIV: Parking prohibited at all times, in the City Code.
    • Passed 4 yes to 2 no. Councilors Patrick and Sherman voting no
  • Resolve to call on New York State leaders to increase AIM Funding for Municipalities.
    • Passed
  • Resolve to authorize the Mayor to sign an agreement with Annsville Solar 3, LLC.
    • Passed
  • Resolve to appoint a Commissioner of Deeds.
    • Passed

The council took time to explained the Proposed Budget Legislation. Public comment and council discussion reflected familiar local concerns, including infrastructure conditions, city services, and fiscal responsibility.  Sandra Rogers asked for an apology for comments made on Facebook by a councilor. None offered.

Coucilor Iorio offered to buy a large coffee for Mrs Rogers and discuss their differences.

Overall, the session underscored a period of steady, day-to-day governance for the City of Fulton, as officials work to manage financial constraints while addressing ongoing operational needs.
