Fulton Lions To Support This Saturdays Tree Lighting Ceremony

Fulton Lions president, David Guyer, presents Special Events Committee members with a check for this Saturday’s Tree Lighting Ceremony

FULTON – The Fulton Tree Lighting Ceremony is scheduled for this Saturday, December 7th, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM thank you to the support of Pathfinder Bank and the Fulton Lions Club. The event will take place throughout Veterans Park, the Community Room, and All Saints Episcopal Church.

 

“The Fulton Lions is proud to support the Special Events Committee and the positive impact it has on the Fulton community,” said David Guyer, president of Fulton Lions Club.

 

The Fulton Tree Lighting Ceremony will feature vendors in the Community Room, face painting, ornament decorating, and activities held at All Saints Episcopal Church, holiday performances on stage, and horse-drawn carriage rides. No tickets are required for the carriage rides, which are free of charge. Rides will be available on a first-come, first-served basis until 5:30 PM.

 

Complimentary refreshments will be available while supplies last. This year’s donations include sugar cookies from Kathy’s Cakes, donuts from Dunkin’ Donuts, hot cocoa provided by the Fulton Athletic Boosters Club, pizza from Red Baron Pizza, candy canes courtesy of Walmart, eggnog by Hudsons’ Dairy, popcorn provided by Huhtamaki, and baked goods donated by the Fulton City School District. Willy-Billy-Bob’s food truck will be available offering food for purchase.

 

Returning this year is the Parade of Lights, organized by Fulton’s former Fire Chief, Adam Howard. The parade will travel through neighborhoods and main streets on both the east and west sides of the city, before their final stop at the tree lighting site. The event will conclude with a spectacular fireworks display over the lit tree and the Oswego River.

 

Schedule of events

  • 3:00 PM: Vendors, face painting, activities, food truck, carriage rides

  • 4:00 PM: Santa arrives and light refreshments available

  • 4:30 PM: Performance on stage by Off Broadway Dance Center

  • 5:00 PM: Parade of Lights arrives at the event

  • 5:15 PM: Performance on stage Belle Royale Dance Academy

  • 5:30 PM: Fulton City School District caroling around the tree

  • 6:00 PM: Tree Lighting Ceremony

  • 6:15 PM: Fireworks display

 

The Great Eastern Whiteout has generously donated winter hats, gloves, and festive headgear and will be distributing them at the event.

 

The Special Events Committee would like to thank the City of Fulton Parks & Recreation department and the local organizations involved in the event for their continued support in making the Tree Lighting Ceremony a success.
