FULTON – On 06/22/24 the Fulton Police Department was made aware of a possible inappropriate relationship between a 39 year old male and an 11 year old child. An investigation was begun, and a suspect identified. It is alleged that over the course of several months, the suspect subjected the victim child to several instances of sexual contact, some of which he recorded on his cell phone. After the initial report to police, the suspect fled to his home in Middletown, NY. Based on the investigation and the evidence collected, the Fulton police obtained an arrest warrant for the suspect. On 07/05/24 members of the Middletown Police Department took the suspect into custody. Fulton Police traveled to Middletown, where they took custody of the suspect and returned him to Oswego County. The suspect is identified as:
- Christopher J. Rico, 39 years old, of Middletown, NY
- Charges: 2 counts of Use of a child in a sexual performance – Class C Felony
- 2 counts of Promoting a sexual performance of a child – Class D Felony
- 6 counts of Sexual abuse 1st Degree – Class D Felony
- 7 counts of Endangering the welfare of a child – Class A Misdemeanor
Rico was arraigned in Oswego County CAP Court on the morning of 07/06/24, and remanded to the jail in lieu of $50,000/$250,000/$500,000 bail/bond.
