Fulton Woman Charged After Firing Shotgun during Domestic Dispute

FULTON, NY – Today (August 1), at approximately 1:52 a.m., State Police in Fulton responded to a report of a shots fired incident at 1140 State Route 176 in the town of Granby.

Investigation at the scene revealed that during the course of a verbal argument, Kathleen M. Halpin, 54, had discharged one round from a shotgun within the living room of the residence while the victim was present, police said.

Halpin was taken into custody and charged with Reckless Endangerment in the 1st degree, a class “B” felony, and Attempted Assault in the 1st degree, a class “B” felony.

She was arraigned in the Town of Granby Court and remanded to the Oswego County Jail in lieu of $2,500 cash or $5,000 bond.

She is scheduled to return to court on August 8, at 7 p.m.
