FULTON – The Fulton Wrestling Club recently dedicated their new flagpole which stands next to the club’s building located at Emery Street and Broadway. Financial support came from a Rotary District Matching Grant and financial sponsorship from Sue and Don Ryan of Tavern on the Lock in Fulton.
The Wrestling Club offers over 250 kids from age 5 to 19 a place to work on their wrestling skills. Andy Hammond, President of the Wrestling club commented that “The flagpole isn’t just a structure; it’s a symbol or pride and unity, attributes valued by everyone in the wrestling program”.
Rotarian Paul Riggall, pastor of the Fulton Nazarene Church gave a blessing and discussed the history and the meaning behind the flag’s colors. He then led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance to complete the dedication ceremony,
Fulton Noon Rotary meets at 12:00 noon on the first three Thursdays of the month at the Tavern on the Lock in Fulton.
