VOLNEY, NY – Friends of Great Bear has scheduled an invitational meeting for people interested in helping at Great Bear Springs Recreational Area.
Great Bear Springs is a non-motorized, share the trails recreational area, encompassing more than 400 acres, with several miles of marked trails, located adjacent to Route 57 in the town of Volney.
The meeting will be held at the Fulton Family Y on April 17 at 7 p.m., room D.
A brief summary of Great Bear Springs and how Friends has worked at Great Bear, will first be presented.
With approximately a mile of the old canal tow path and a historic lock at Great Bear, Friends is also part of the Canal Corporation’s Adopt A Trail Organization.
Projects scheduled and potential projects will be discussed.
With the diversity of Great Bear, there are many choices and interests that can be explored.
