OSWEGO, NY – Harborfest’s Programming Committee and GS Steamers are giving you the chance to plan ahead for this year’s festival.

Hosting a “Harborfest Preview on the Deck,” those attending the preview will have an opportunity to listen to music clips from performers scheduled on the various stages during Harborfest 2008.

Members of the committee will emcee and will also be available throughout the night to answer any questions you may have about each performer.

This free event will be held on the new deck at GS Steamers, 71 E. First St., on Friday from 5-9 p.m.

“With the bridge out, the programming committee wanted to provide an opportunity for people to know what they wanted to see and hear, and where they would need to travel in advance of the festival to help them plan their travel route,” said Chuck Handley, chair of the Programming Committee. “It also provides an opportunity for people to get into the Caribbean spirit, as the Caribbean is the cultural component of the festival this year.”

Slated for July 24 – 27, the 2008 edition of Harborfest will feature plenty of food, fun and entertainment as venues on both Oswego’s east and west sides will be used to deliver the excitement.

A wide variety of entertainment will be featured on stages throughout the city of Oswego including, the NRG Family Stage in East Park, the Budweiser Rock Stage on East Second Street, and the Labatt Lakeview Stage in Breitbeck Park.

With the Route 104 Bridge closed for repair this summer, be sure to plan accordingly so that you don’t miss the events you want to see.

The Utica Street Bridge will be open as will the pedestrian walking bridge located just north of Utica Street.
