Motorcyclist Injured In Oswego Crash

OSWEGO, NY – The Oswego Fire Department responded to a reported motorcycle accident at 11:38 this morning (May 26).

The one-vehicle accident occurred at the intersection of West First and Murray streets in the city.

The motorcycle, a Honda Gold Wing, was traveling south on West First Street, and reportedly began to slide in some dirt in the roadway.

The handlebars struck a street sign post and caused the motorcycle to slide over the curb and into the concrete stairs of the building facing the Y-intersection.

The rider was found by rescuers lying near the stairs.

OFD Paramedics on the scene determined that the rider’s injuries were serious enough to warrant transport to University Hospital, Syracuse, by helicopter.

The OFD isn’t releasing the identity of the rider.

The rider appeared to have leg, chest, and head injuries.

A State Police helicopter landed at the Romney Field parking area on the SUNY-Oswego campus to transport the patient.
