Onondaga County Deputies Investigate Larceny of Floating Dock

FLOATING DOCK LOCATED
On May 7, Onondaga County Sheriff Kevin E. Walsh reported that thefloating dock has been located.

Jim Caster of 6725 Lakeshore Road in Cicero, told deputies that he found the dock floating in his private marina, 6725 Lakeshore Road, on the morning of Saturday May 4 and he tied it up.

Caster said he did not know who the dock belonged to until he saw the media coverage this morning and he notified the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputy Sean Andrews notified the dock’s owner, who identified and retrieved it.

Caster’s marina is approximately 200 yards west of Oneida Bay Marina.

Deputy Andrews determined that because the water current flows east to west, if the dock broke free from its original location, it would end up in Caster’s marina.

It is unknown at this time how the dock broke free.
