Oswego Hospital To Hold Summertime MASH Camp For Youths

OSWEGO, NY – Students who will be entering eighth or ninth grade in the fall can experience what it’s like to work in a hospital through the Medical Academy of Science and Health’s Camp to be held at Oswego Hospital July 29 and 30.

The camp will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days.

Students attending last summer’s Oswego Hospital MASH Camp are pictured as they practice making sutures during the two-day educational program.Applications for MASH Camp can be found at either the nurse’s office or guidance department of local schools.

Interested students must submit their application by June 30.

Students who participate in the camp will pay a $25 fee that will cover the cost of hospital scrubs and other camp supplies.

During the camp, students will learn about a variety of healthcare professions, as well as their education requirements, skills, job duties, and participate in interactive hands-on activities that highlight those skills, equipment, technology, and resources used by medical professions each day.

The camp is coordinated by the Central New York Area Health Education Center.

CNYAHEC is a non-profit health workforce development organization located in Cortland that serves 14 counties in central New York including Oswego County.
