Oswego School Chief Eyes Job In Bellingham, Mass

Oswego, N.Y. – David Fischer, currently superintendent of the Oswego City School District, is the finalist for the superintendent position with the Bellingham School District in Bellingham, Mass.

The Bellingham school board is expected to announce its decision at its June 10 meeting.

Fischer told the Daily News recently that he had sent out his resume to “explore other career options.”

He added he will likely hear from the Bellingham board on Tuesday night.

Fischer was named superintendent of Oswego schools Jan. 3, 2005.

There was a resolution on last week’s school board agenda that would have increased Fischer’s Oswego salary. The resolution was never brought to the floor or discussed.

Fischer said he hopes this news won’t be a distraction in Oswego.

He wants to continue on the business at hand, he said, and keep Oswego moving in a positive direction as it faces a revote on the 2008-09 budget. missing or outdated ad config
