Police: Man Allegedly Kidnapped Oswego Woman

OSWEGO, NY – On May 28, at approximately 3:46 a.m. the Oswego Police Department received a report that a 22-year-old female was allegedly kidnapped from her Oswego residence.

Oswego Police were also notified that the victim was safe at the Webster Police Department.

Scott C. FureyOswego Police began an extensive investigation and determined that, on May 27, at about 10 p.m., the female victim was in her residence when a known acquaintance of the victim, Scott C. Furey, forcibly entered the female’s residence.

While unlawfully inside the residence, it is alleged that, the suspect intentionally damaged property of the victim in excess of $250 and physically removed the victim from her the residence forcing her into the suspect’s vehicle.

The suspect drove the victim to Webster, where she was ultimately released by the suspect.

During the course of the abduction the suspect did threaten to kill the victim and the victim’s family.

On May 28, at approximately 2:07 p.m. Oswego Police arrested Furey, in Ontario, NY.

Furey, 38, of 1450 Hidden Pond Lane Walworth, NY, was transported back to Oswego, where he was charged with kidnapping in the Second Degree (B-Felony), burglary in the Second Degree (C-Felony), and criminal mischief in the Third Degree (E-Felony).

On May 29, Furey was arraigned in Oswego City Court on the above charges and was remanded to the Oswego County Correctional Facility in Lieu of $50,000 bail / $100,000 bond.

Furey is scheduled to return to Oswego City Court on June 3.
