Police: Man Warned He’d Soon Rob Credit Union, Fled on Bicycle

A Volney man is in jail Friday on a charge of attempting to rob a Fulton credit union.

Fulton Police say Martin J. Richardson, 54, of Rowlee Road went to Empower Federal Credit Union on S. Second St. at about 11:15 a.m. Friday.

Police allege he pulled a bandana over his face and told a bank teller that he would rob the credit union in the next five minutes.  Police say he then left the credit union’s property.

Richardson was found about half an hour later at W. Third and Oak St., riding a bicycle.  Police say he refused to pull over when he was ordered to do so.

He was eventually arrested.  Richardson is charged with attempted robbery and resisting arrest. missing or outdated ad config
