Two women who worked at a Granby Center convenience store are accused of using different methods to take money from the store.

Crystal N. Hines-Carvey, 28, of 12 Germandale Drive, Fulton was charged with a felony count of grand larceny by Oswego County Sheriff’s deputies. Theressa A. Castillo, 43, of 6014 Manley Drive, Red Creek, was charged with a misdemeanor count of petit larceny.

The both worked at the Pit Stop convenience store on County Route 3.

Undersheriff Gene Sullivan said that store officials began an investigation in late 2012 and turned the results over to them in January.

Sullivan said the two women did not appear to have been working together.  “They had their own different ways of doing this,” he said.

Hines-Carvey is alleged to have taken about $1,200 by adding amounts to the records of payouts for winning lottery tickets, and pocketed the excess amounts.

Castillo is alleged to have taken about $150 from cash to be deposited, Sullivan said.

Hines-Carvey was sent to jail on bail of $1,000 cash or $2,000 bond.  She is due to return to Granby town court Monday night.  Castillo was ticketed and released. missing or outdated ad config
