Stolen Credit Cards Lead To Two Arrests

Two Fulton residents are charged with using stolen credit cards at local businesses.

The Oswego County Sheriff’s Department reports that Michael E. Shoults, Jr., 28, and Cory L. DeMott, 28, both of 313 Erie St., Apt. 1, Fulton, were arrested over the weekend. Shoults was charged with three felonies — burglary, grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property — and a misdemeanor count of petit larceny. DeMott was charged with felony counts of grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property.

Police allege Shoults stole credit cards from a Volney home on Friday and used the cards to buy more than $600 in merchandise from a business in Granby.

Police allege DeMott used the cards to make purchases in Granby and Central Square.

Shoults was sent to jail on bail of $5,000 bond or $2,500 cash and is due back in Volney and Granby town courts tonight. DeMott was sent to jail on bail of $1,000 bond or $500 cash from each of the courts in Granby and Central Square. She is due in Granby town court tonight and in Central Square village court on April 3.
