Tax Increase On Smokes Is Good Time To End “Gross” Habit

Dear Editor,

Smoking cigarettes is gross. It makes the smoker and everyone around him/her stink, causes yellow teeth, bad breath, cancer, emphysema, etc…

The June 3rd tax increase is a perfect time for smokers to consider dumping the cigarettes, and consider their own health as well as the people that are around him/her.

The New York State Department of Health is estimating that the $1.25 tax increase on cigarettes will motivate 140,000 adult New York State smokers to quit smoking for good and I think that is awesome.

For help quitting people can call 1-866-NY-QUITS or visit www.nysmokefree.com.
