Teaching Assistant Charged With DWI After Investigation at Fulton High School

FULTON – On June 11, 2026 at approximately 8:55 A.M., Fulton Police Department was alerted by

school administration of a possible intoxicated employee at G. Ray Bodley High School.

Patrol Officer’s then responded to G. Ray Bodley High School where they conducted an

investigation. They found that the Teaching Assistant, identified as Mary B. Smith, was

exhibiting signs of intoxication. Standardized Field Sobriety tests were then

administered, which she failed.

Smith was taken into custody and transported to Fulton Police Department where she

provided a breath sample that resulted in a blood alcohol content (BAC) of 0.17%.

The suspect has been identified as:

Mary B. Smith, 57, of Fulton, New York

Charges:

VTL 1192.2 – Driving While BAC .08% or greater

VTL 1192.3 – Driving While Intoxicated

Smith was issued Uniform Traffic Tickets, returnable to Fulton City Court on June 18,

2026, to answer to the above charges
