The Fulton Block Builders Can Be Seen Gathering All Over The City

Blocks of neighbors are coming together all around the City of Fulton

FULTON, NY – Dennis Merlino and Steven Cappelltti are block leaders in the Cayuga Street area and worked with members of the Fulton Church of the Nazarene to put together a great day at Quirk Park.

There was a bounce house, face painting, music, food, wood working projects for kids and even a real fire truck and police car for families to explore.

“It’s just wonderful to see our community coming together and enjoying a beautiful summer day together,” said Dennis Merlino.

Carolyn Mosier is part of Sandi McIntyre’s block over on Erie and 8th streets and she invited everyone to a great block party at her house.

Eight block participants had a wonderful gathering at their beautifully landscaped home.

What started as a “what has everyone done so far” meeting turned into a group of friends talking about family and the neighborhood.

Neighbors learned more new things about each other and had a great time together. Did you know Mr. Mosier sang with in a large group choir in Ireland this past June? It was truly a delightful gathering.

Sharon Buske and Jean Ballard are two sisters co-sponsoring their block of 15 in Target Zone 5.

They invited their neighbors over to their house for a mid-summer get together with lots of food, drinks and laughter.

“We are having such a great time; this project has really got us feeling and acting like a community again.

The house next door has been vacant for years and now the landlord, Peter Holmes, is working on rebuilding the front porch and installing windows.

“This home will be such a pleasant addition to the neighborhood” commented Sharon.

An interesting fact about this Block gathering is that Jean and Sharon made a point of inviting neighbors that did not participate in FBB this year.

The interest and excitement is growing. This is what Fulton Block Builders is all about!

Audrey Avery is the block leader for a group of neighbors that border Voorhees Park in Fulton.

She and her group recently got together and had a great time together while cleaning up the park.

Audrey said, “We had a great time trimming trees it really felt good to volunteer and spend time with the neighbors. We all thank Fulton Block Builders (FBB) again for everything.”

Finally, the Litwik and Bakeman groups came together to plan their block party and vote on the neighborhood sign they are jointly having erected to welcome people to their neighborhood.

There will be more later when the sign is in place. For now, take notice that Councilman, Don Patrick is in their picture, he supports and attends all of this groups’ meetings.
