Three Will Vie For Two Fulton Board of Education Seats

Three people have submitted petitions to run for two seats on the Fulton City School District Board of Education.

One is an incumbent, one is a former board member and one is making his first bid for office.

Incumbent board member Brian Hotaling of Utica St. is seeking his second three-year term.  Janet Truong, of Harris Hill Rd. in Granby, served on the board in the past, deciding not to run for reelection in 2008.  And newcomer Dan Cunningham, of S. Fifth St., rounds out the field.

Truong will appear first on the May 18 ballot, followed by Cunningham and Hotaling.

Incumbent board member Bob Somers is not running for reelections.

Cunningham attended Wednesday night’s Board of Education meeting and was welcomed by Hotaling. “I encourage everyone to get out and vote. Doesn’t matter who you vote for,” Hotaling said, adding, “Preferably me,” to laughter from those in attendance.
