Two Men Charged In String of Robberies

CICERO, NY- The Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office reports that Sheriff’s Detectives have charged two men in connection with a robbery of a gas station that occurred last night in the town of Cicero.

Sheriff’s detectives say 21-year-old Daniel Hill of 24 Carter Drive, Hannibal, entered the Kwik Fill gas station located at 5919 East Taft Road, last night (Dec. 30) at approximately 9:37, and demanded money from the store clerk.

Hill, who was wearing a mask at the time of the robbery, fled the store with an
undisclosed amount of cash before getting into a nearby waiting vehicle that was operated by a Keith Capstraw, 27, of 208 N. Main St., North Syracuse, police said.

While working in conjunction with the Cicero Police Department and the New York State Police, detectives learned that Hill and Capstraw were allegedly responsible for a string of recent robberies that occurred in the Cicero and Salina area.

Sheriff’s detectives charged both men with Robbery in the 3rd degree for the incident at the Kwik Fill gas station.

They were being held overnight in the Justice Center and are expected to be arraigned sometime today (Dec. 31) in the Town of Cicero.
