The New York State Department of Transportation announced the following upcoming lane closures on I-81, weather permitting. These closures are necessary to facilitate bridge maintenance work.
On Monday, June 24, the left and center lanes of I-81 northbound will be closed at Route 11 in Mattydale between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m.
On Tuesday, June 25, the right and center lanes of I-81 northbound will be closed at Route 11 in Mattydale between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m.
On Wednesday, June 26, the right lane of I-81 southbound will be closed at the NYS Thruway interchange between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Motorists are reminded that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of the driver’s license.
