Submitted by the Phoenix Central School District
The Universal Pre-Kindergarten class at Maroun Elementary School in Phoenix recently installed a loft in their classroom for students to use and enjoy.
The Universal Pre-Kindergarten Program is fully funded by a New York State grant and offered at no charge to the parents. A requirement of the grant is that selection for the class be determined by lottery drawing. This drawing will be held on June 9 and parents will be contacted by phone if their child is selected. Screening for the program will take place during the week of June 30th – July 3rd and is a requirement for admission into the program.
If your child is not selected to participate in the Pre-Kindergarten Program, your child will be placed on a waiting list. If a placement becomes available, you will be contacted by phone of the availability.
UPK classes are taught by certified teachers and each program is rigorous and will help prepare children for continued academic success.
Applications are available from Maroun Elementary or interested parties can call the school at 695-1561 for an application or questions.
