West 1st Street Improvement Project to begin Monday, June 2, 2025

FULTON –  Beginning Monday, June 2, 2025, the long-awaited City of Oswego West 1st Street Improvement Project will begin.

This project will roll out in 3 phases. The first phase will have detours around West 1st Street from Erie to Murray Streets and a small area of road closure between Varick Street and West 1st Street on Murray Street (see attached map for specifics).

The contractor completing the work has advised the City of Oswego that traffic will be reduced to one lane of alternating traffic, managed by a flagging crew during Phase 1. It is advisable to avoid the area if you are merely attempting to pass through. Expect delays if you are in need of visiting this section of Oswego.

The City of Oswego will continue to provide information and updates on this project as we receive them. Be sure to follow the “City of Oswego” Facebook page to get updates in real-time.

We appreciate the public’s patience and flexibility as we complete this important and necessary work. We look forward to the new and improved West 1st Street corridor.
