Dear Editor,
Cigarette prices went up on June 3rd. If you have wanted to quit, this is the perfect excuse and motivation to do so. Tax on cigarettes is$2.75 now, which is a $1.25 increase from the previous prices.
Smoking is not attractive, and it doesn’t make you cool. Cigarettes affect your breathing, energy, and sense of smell and taste. Smoking only hurts you; and now with the tax increase, it will affect your bank account too. Now with the gas prices higher, and cigarettes being expensive, it is a good time to quit. Save some money and save your body. Quit! Call the toll-free quit line number at 1-866-NY-QUITS 1-866-697-8487). You can also go to the quit line web site at www.nysmokefree.com.
