Girl Scouts Host Cookie Booth Sales April 1-23, Donate Cookies To Food Banks

Syracuse, N.Y. — Area troops and local Girl Scouts in the NYPENN Pathways Council (GSNYPENN) footprint are gearing up for the start of booth sales and the conclusion of the 2023 Girl Scout Cookie Program. The public can use the Cookie Finder on the council’s dedicated season webpage at buygirlscoutcookiesnow.com to enter their zip code to locate booths and support their local Girl Scout entrepreneurs. Booths run April 1-23.

Consumers who may not want cookies for themselves but still wish to support their local Girl Scouts can donate cookie purchases to assist community partners. The council gifts cookies to local organizations each year for an annual service project. This year’s GSNYPENN Sweet Support Gift of Caring partners are the Food Bank of Central New York and the Food Bank of the Southern Tier.

The local cookie season concludes on the final day of booths, April 23. GSNYPENN covers 26 counties across the area with a footprint spanning Allegany, Broome, Cayuga, Chemung, Chenango, Cortland, Delaware, Herkimer, Jefferson, Lewis, Madison, Oneida, Onondaga, Ontario, Oswego, Otsego, St. Lawrence, Schuyler, Seneca, Steuben, Tioga, Tompkins, Wayne and Yates counties in New York and Bradford and Tioga counties in Pennsylvania.

Locally, Girl Scout Cookies remain priced at $5 per package. Varieties sold at local booths will include:

  • Samoas® – crisp cookie coated with caramel, sprinkled with toasted coconut and striped with dark chocolate
  • Tagalongs® – crispy cookie layered with peanut butter and covered with chocolate
  • Do-si-dos® – crunchy oatmeal sandwich cookie with creamy peanut butter filling
  • Lemon-Ups® – lemon cookie with messages inspired by Girl Scout entrepreneurs, “I am a go-getter” and “I am an innovator” are among 8 phrases that bring Girl Scouting to life
  • Thin Mints® – crisp wafer cookie covered in chocolate coating made with natural oil of peppermint, vegan, #1 selling variety nationwide
  • Toffee-tastic® – gluten-free, rich buttery cookie with crunchy toffee bits
  • Trefoils® – traditional shortbread cookie, oldest variety still produced today
  • Girl Scout S’mores® – crunchy graham sandwich cookie with creamy chocolate and marshmallow filling
  • Adventurefuls™ – brownie-inspired cookie with caramel-flavored crème and a hint of sea salt

The cookie program is the council’s largest annual fundraiser. Proceeds stay local, powering life-changing programming and volunteer support and building troop funds to explore new places, programs, and beyond. Girl Scouts use cookie funds to pay for invaluable experiences like attending summer camp, going on field trips, and spearheading community service projects. As the community opens their favorite box of Girl Scout Cookies, they simultaneously open new doors for local girls to explore their leadership potential, build lifelong friendships, and make the world around them a better place.
