Hastings Man Arrested In Relation To September Fatal Crash

OSWEGO COUNTY – Today, at around 7:30 a.m., members of the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 26-year-old male by the name of Michel M Palmowski II of Hastings, New York.

The arrest stems from an investigation into a motor vehicle collision that occurred on September 26, 2019.  Palmowski is accused of leaving the scene of a collision in the Town of Constantia.

The incident involved a single vehicle that went off the roadway and collided with a tree on Center Street. As a result of the collision, a female occupant was seriously injured and later died as a result of her injuries sustained during the collision. That female has been identified as 23-year-old Courtney Riddel of Baldwinsville, New York.

Palmowski was charged with the following:

  • Vehicular Manslaughter 1st degree a class C felony
  • Leaving the scene of a fatal accident without reporting a class D felony
  • And two separate counts of Aggravated Unlicensed Operator in the 1st a class E felony

Palmowski was processed and taken to Oswego County CAP Court where was arraigned on all charges. He was released on his own recognizance due to bail reform and is set to appear in the Town of Constantia Court on July 6.
