OSWEGO COUNTY– The Oswego County Legislature’s Public Safety Committee presented Bob Lighthall with a certificate recognizing his service to the county and unwavering dedication to its residents.
Lighthall began his career as a corrections officer with the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office before becoming a deputy sheriff and working his way up to Undersheriff.
He retired in 2011 but returned to service the following year to lead the County’s STOP-DWI Program. For over a decade, Lighthall worked tirelessly to build up the program in the community and raise awareness about the dangers of impaired driving.
Now, after nearly 46 years, Lighthall is “retiring” once again as the Legislature expressed its gratitude with a standing ovation.
