Oswego County Man Injured In Clay Shooting

TOWN OF CLAY, NY – The Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office reports that sheriff’s detectives have made
an arrest in the shooting incident that seriously injured an Oswego County man.

On Monday, December 14, at approximately 9:30 p.m., sheriff’s deputies responded to Upstate University
Hospital where they met with a victim of a shooting incident that occurred in the Town of Clay.

The 19-year-old unnamed male victim from Oswego County, told deputies that he was involved in a physical altercation with another male outside a residence in the Madison Village mobile home park and upon driving away in his vehicle he sustained a gunshot wound to his neck.

The victim indicated that he knew his aslant however, he believed the shot came from a third person at the scene. The victim was treated for his injury and he is expected to survive.

As the investigation progressed, detectives were able to identify the shooter and take him into custody yesterday morning. The shooter has been identified as Robert Quinonez, 20, of Brompton Lane, also in the Madison Village mobile home park.

Quinonez was charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the 2nd degree, criminal use of a firearm in the 2nd degree and assault in the 2nd degree. He was arraigned yesterday evening in Centralized Arraignment Court with bail set at $50,000 cash $100,000 bond.
