County leaders are actively coordinating with Sheriff Don Hilton to evaluate the incidents and determine whether additional safety measures may be necessary.
“We take these accidents very seriously,” said James Weatherup, Chairman of the Oswego County Legislature. “We are working closely with Sheriff Don Hilton and his team to review the recent crashes and identify any steps we can take to improve safety for the residents who travel this road every day.”
Local legislators who represent the area say the recent incidents have raised concerns among residents and that the county is committed to responding.
“People who live along County Route 45 are understandably worried,” said Patrick Twiss, Oswego County Legislator, 13th district. “We’re working with the Sheriff’s Office and county highway officials to closely review the crashes and determine what steps may help prevent future accidents.”

Additional updates will be shared as the county works with the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office and highway officials to evaluate conditions and potential improvements.
