OSWEGO – As the Port City prepares for a once-in-a-lifetime total solar eclipse, educators in the Oswego City School District are getting students ready for this unique opportunity by explaining the science behind this phenomenon.
The Oswego Middle School Science Department recently teamed with SUNY Oswego to develop a webpage and list of resources for students and families. They also focused on providing general eclipse information, safety details and information about the science involved in an eclipse.
“Being in the path of totality of a total solar eclipse is an incredible opportunity for our students,” said OCSD science teachers Elise Davis and Tiffany McCrobie. “We saw this as an excellent chance to collaborate with our partners at SUNY Oswego and to develop some really great resources for the kids and their families.”
