Oswego Man Charged With Sexually Abusing Child

A town of Oswego man is accused of sexually abusing a child over four years.

Police charged Timothy D. Sheldon, 27, of 371 County Route 89, Oswego with criminal sexual act, sexual abuse and course of sexual conduct, all felonies, as well as a misdemanor count of sexual abuse and two misdemeanor counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

Police do not name the victims of sexual crimes.

He is accused of having sexual contact with a girl, beginning in April, 2005 when she was only 7 years old. It happened, police allege, at a home in the town of Oswego and continued until July of this year. Police also claim Sheldon had sexual contact with the girl, now 11 years old, at a Volney home on July 12.

Town of Scriba Justice Kenneth Adkins sent Sheldon to the Oswego County Correctional Facility on bail of $15,000 cash or $30,000 bond for each arrest. He is scheduled to return to court in Volney on July 20 and in Oswego Town on July 27.
